songs I learned from skateboarding by Max K
I figured I’d take a turn at this since I have an upcoming show I’m supposed to be promoting. And, more importantly, I just found my first wild morel, which feels like a something worth celebrating with friends. Both the mushroom and the show popped up in South Bend, the morel in the woods near where I’m staying, and the show at the city’s Museum of Art. I grew up here, so it’s all very heartfelt and special for me.
Other news, I just released a second edition of a sold out book from a while back. Check it out here. My show at the South Bend Museum of Art opens in May and runs through August. If you’re in the area, please join for a reception on June 6. Enjoy this mix.

What are you working on presently?
MK: I’m currently working on a large installation component of a show involving a hand-painted cube filled with old glass bottles, building maquettes, and other various found objects. When complete, it will be a sort of light-catcher that will cast these dreamy shapes and shadows when placed next to a window or source of light.
What was the last album you listened to start to finish?
MK: Madlib, Sound Ancestors
What’s the vibe for summer 2025? What song will you be playing on repeat?
MK: I’m looking forward to the gentle vibe of Stereolab’s new album.
What’s your hype song?
MK: Nicotine & Gravy by Beck. It’s a kind of silkiness I always aspire to achieve.
